Characted Education: CARE stations

Every year we have discussions with students about our character education program. For those that are new to my blog, we use the acronym C.A.R.E. to highlight four key values of being successful students.

Cooperation, Appreciation, Respect, and Excel

To enlist students in the process of applying these values we have students create posters in their classrooms with the help of 6th grade leaders. These leaders are role model students who have exemplified what it means to be cooperative, show appreciation, and respect others. These students also excel in the classroom and outside of school. 6th grade leaders ask students leading questions on how they can be cooperative in the classroom, hallways, cafeteria, etc. We do this in each classroom and students discuss all 4 components of our CARE program. These posters are then displayed outside of each classroom for the remainder of the school year. We have been doing this for the past 2 years and it has been very successful.
