Rainbow of friends lesson
This is a class lesson I do each year for fourth graders. We read the book "Rainbow of friends" by P.K. Hallinan and then the kids trace their hands to create this hallway display. I use one color for each classroom. This year we only have 5 fourth grade classrooms so I traced by own hand for the color purple. The kids wrote "I will embrace differences" on the palm of each of their hands and then wrote down 1 thing they can do to be a good friend on each finger. For the purple hands I spelled out "WE WILL EMBRACE DIFFERENCES" by putting one letter on each hand. Here is how it turned out!!
